*** Just Added - Pre-Conference Training ***

We’ve just added two free preconference training classes to the conference. These classes will be held from 1:00-5:00 on Wednesday, Oct. 8th. Class size will be limited. You must be a paid conference attendee to attend. To register for the classes, contact Pam at Open Systems by clicking the appropriate class description below. You’ll receive an email confirmation to verify your spot in class.

OSAS Business Intelligence - this class will cover Executive Information Summary (EIS), Global Inquiry, ODBC (with PivotTables), and drill-downs. With all the data you are collecting in your accounting system, have you ever wondered how to take advantage of this gold mine of information? This class is designed to help you take advantage of the tools in OSAS that will allow you to examine your data. EXECUTIVE INFORMATION SUMMARY (EIS) – This tool, included in Resource Manager, allows you to use the existing dashboards or to create custom dashboard to display business critical information. For example, some of the included dashboards display the daily statistics of sales and purchases, AR and AP analysis, and your top 10 customers, vendors and items. GLOBAL INQUIRY – this inquiry function allows you to examine and investigate your OSAS data in Purchase Order, Sales Order, Inventory, and General Ledger -- from almost everywhere, and with no setup needed. BBj ODBC - The BBj ODBC driver allows you to link your OSAS data into any ODBC-compliant application such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. This portion of the training will discuss the setup for linking to the data and basic setup for creating reports in Excel. OSAS also includes multiple example Excel PivotTables for you to begin with, so we will explain how to link these to your data. DRILL-DOWNS - We will demonstrate and explain the new General Ledger drill-down function added in OSAS 7.5. Learn how to drill into the source transactions responsible for the amount being displayed.

Reporting on Your TRAVERSE Data - All the data you need for analyzing your business is stored in the TRAVERSE database, so how do you get to it? This class will show you several of the many ways to tap into this information so you can easily gain access to it and give your business that competitive edge. EXCEL REPORTING - you have seen the TRAVERSE PivotTables, but how do you really use them? We'll show you how to create your own, and demonstrate other ways to use Excel to mine your data. SQL REPORTING SERVICES - TRAVERSE v11 is moving to a new style of reporting, and you can learn how to take advantage of it now! SQL Reporting Services will work on your 10.5 data. See what a SQL Reporting Services report looks like, how to create one, and how it can take your reporting to the next level. Exporting lists of data, Mail Merge and so much more…come join us for this free and very informative class.

Here’s what some of the attendees had to say about the 2007 Customer Excellence Conference:

“The conference was great! The presenters were knowledgeable and well prepared, and the Open Systems staff was very welcoming and helpful. Getting together with the other TRAVERSE users is invaluable.” - Peg Palmiere, Nylink, Albany, NY

“As a new TRAVERSE user, this conference has helped me learn what the software can do. I look forward to going back and using what I’ve learned. As a company, TRAVERSE is allowing us to put all departments on the same system so we can better share important data and information.” - Cindy Warren, The Word for You Today, Roswell, GA

“The openness and approachability of the staff and their knowledge makes the whole conference worthwhile.” - Steve Sherburne, Web Industries, Inc., Fort Wayne, IN

“We have used TRAVERSE for nine years and the flexibility and training is great. I love the customer conference and can’t wait until we upgrade to version 10.5!” - Kathy Lyons, Flanagan Instruments, Inc., Mandeville, LA

“When I first arrived at the conference, I was hesitant as to what I would learn. Within the first 15 minutes I knew my trip was worth it. The speakers and staff were great. I realized there is so much in OSAS that I am not taking advantage of. It was also great to get new contacts from other states. Thanks!” - Cynthia Hoeksema, Pharmco Industries, Inc., Platte, SD

“The conference was a good learning experience. The staff was nice and answered all questions. It was great seeing and meeting others.” - Ken Kelley, Canyon State Bus Sales, Phoenix, AZ

“The second annual conference was better than the first—and the first was great!” - Keith Gaertner, Missouri Library Network, St. Louis, MO

“I really thought there was no exceeding the knowledge I received last year at the conference; however, I was wrong. Keep up the good work. I will see you next year.” - Gayle Clement, Michigan Nurses Association, Okemos, MI

“The conference made a lot of things come together for me and gave good illustrations of more advanced concepts I haven’t explored on my own.” - Christopher Leonard, Image Products, Wilmington, NC
